Interconnectedness of Existence

I am part of the world. I am the world. Every atom in me once belonged to something else, drifting through time, reshaping, merging. Today, I crossed paths with another being—a cat, naturally, an orange one. It's always the orange ones, as if they hold some secret of the universe. I beckoned it closer through the haze of burning leaves, but it moved in silence, offering no greeting. Instead, it stopped and gazed into my eyes, as if recognizing something.

We exchanged thoughts, wordless but understood. I told it about our shared lineage, that somewhere, in the deep folds of time, a single spark of life branched out—one path leading to me, the other to it. The tree behind us whispered in agreement. The wall, old and crumbling, murmured its assent, joining the conversation. And the smoke—unexpectedly—spoke, swirling in rhythm with the words unspoken.

Then the sun, ancient and wise, bathed us all in her warmth and said, “You are all mine.” And I, with a quiet smile, replied, “Thank you.”
